Swimming Developments

Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust (DCLT), Doncaster Swimming Clubs and The Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) are now working in partnership to ensure swimmers can achieve their full potential.

Following the ASA’s National Plan , DCLT progress swimmers through THE LEARN TO SWIM PATHWAY Stages 1 – 7. Once the required level of competence is achieved they are then fed through to their local Swimming Club to progress through stage’s 8, 9 & 10 – the competitive swimming stages.

During the Learn to Swim stages talent spotting will also take place to ensure swimmers with potential are fast tracked through to the clubs to receive coaching and opportunities to compete competitively.

All DCLT Swimming Instructors are all Fully ASA Level 2 Qualied and hold a current CRB and a Pool Lifeguard Certicate. The Swimming Clubs are all members of the ASA and provide swimmers with the opportunity to develop their skills, learn new skills and try competitive swimming in local gala’s for the first time.

The swimming clubs in Doncaster are accredited (or working towards accreditation) to the ASA’s Quality Mark Swim21, this is a sign that a club has all of the building blocks in place to be a strong, efficient and effective club.
