Children and families
This page is dedicated to all Families and Children, to help you Stay active & Stay Healthy within the local area.
We know it can be difficult being at home a lot, especially with a young family, so here you will find lots of ways to take part in some active and creative activities - for both mind and body - making sure you still have fun at the same time. There are so many ways to have active fun at home, with different ways to keep the whole family active, whatever your ages.
You can take part in our home workout videos - via "Zoom in your front room", or you can take a stroll around your local community or even do a spot of cycling. Keeping active as a family is a great way to encourage children to stay as active and as healthy as possible, making sure they take a break from screen time. It is also a great way to spend quality time together as a family.
Try and aim for an average of 60 minutes of physical activity a day for children, 3 hours for under 5's and 2-3 hours a week for adults.
Check out our suggestions using the menu's below, and see how we have linked up with local partners and organisations to ensure we Get Doncaster Moving, even during a lockdown.
A selection of our pools and gyms re-open as soon as they are permitted to, for you to enjoy swimming again as a family, or for Mum and Dad to hit the gym in peace!
