Catering Manager

About the role 

Reporting to the Group Commercial Manager and with an operating budget of £850,000 - £1,250,000 income target, you will lead on the operational planning and delivery of the outlets under your portfolio, reviewing commercial areas to achieve stretching financial targets while maximising income and profitability.  You will be responsible for a team of permanent and casual staff, developing a positive ethos that yields a commercially successful business that consistently exceeds our customers and clients’ expectations.  Ultimately you will work proactively alongside colleagues in the Trust to deliver the company vision of success.  You will explore opportunities for innovative programming and commercially successful third-party events with the Group Commercial Manager, grow and deliver the private function businesses through working with venue and marketing teams.  The post is a member of the Dome Management Team, maintaining productive working relationships with colleagues and peers and externally with suppliers and competitors, looking across the organisation to support and drive all areas of the Trust 

 

About You 

With relevant qualification at degree level or equivalent, you will have significant knowledge and experience of catering for large scale events and retail best practice with a track record of identifying and implementing opportunities to develop the Catering aims of the business. Setting and delivering stretching performance targets.  Leadership and people management skills and experience, including coaching, team development, motivation and communication with strong financial acumen to manage budgets, maximise income and control costs.  You will have a proven track record of achieving exceptional level of customer service, excellent people skills, enabling strong relationships internally and externally to be built and maintained.  

 

Experience of managing operational risk with Level 3 Food Hygiene and Knowledge of all Food Hygiene and Health and Safety compliance requirements.  You will also have Project and Events Management experience and Strong written, verbal and IT communication skills including influencing and negotiating.
