Pupils from Warmsworth Primary School are celebrating being crowned as South Yorkshire Schools swimming champions at Adwick Leisure Complex.

The finals saw 12 teams, three from Doncaster, three from Sheffield, three from Barnsley and three from Rotherham battle it out for the title.

Warmsworth Primary (Doncaster) performed well on the day and took the top spot, being crowned as the best school swimmers in South Yorkshire.

Kraig Kelly, head of leisure at Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust (DCLT) who run Adwick Leisure Complex said: “Well done to Warmsworth Primary School. It is great to see swimmers from Doncaster crowned as the best in South

Yorkshire.

“This has been a fantastic competition and our thanks go out to all of the schools and pupils who have taken part.

“The event, run in association with Active Fusion and The Yorkshire Sport Foundation, is helping school swimmers to strive to be their best and encouraging swimming from an early age.

“Swimming is a very important skill to have and we are pleased to see so many young people working hard to improve their abilities in the water.
