Refurbished Armthorpe Leisure Centre is set to open
Armthorpe Leisure Centre is set to reopen to fitness fans, swimmers, and the community on May 10 following a £1.1m refurbishment.
The Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust (DCLT) managed site, which has been closed due to Covid-19 restrictions, will welcome customers back from next week.
Michael Hart, chief executive of DCLT said: “We are extremely pleased to have been able to improve key areas of Armthorpe Leisure Centre over the last few months and are really happy with what has been achieved.
“While behind the scenes work to replace the external roof, ceilings, the air handling in the building, and upgrades to the pool plant area might not be visible to returning customers, the impact of these works certainly will be.
“As well as those vital works we have refurbished and increased the size of the gym at Armthorpe and replaced all the resistance and cardio equipment and we have upgraded the fitness studio.
“A new lift has also been installed to help customers reach the second floor making the building fully accessible for all.
“Our team are looking forward to welcoming customers to the venue from May 10.”News Archive
