Our main swimming pool is ideal for lane swimming and casual sessions, while our teaching pool provides a welcoming environment for swimming lessons and younger swimmers.
Our newly renovated gym features a wide range of cardio, strength and functional training equipment to support your fitness, wellbeing and training goals. You can also enjoy a variety of instructor-led classes throughout the week in our dedicated group fitness studio.
Our spacious sports hall and all-weather artificial sports pitch host a wide range of activities, and our dedicated group fitness studio offers classes to suit all abilities. When you've finished, relax and refuel with a visit to our on-site café.
Accessibility
At Dearne Valley Leisure Centre, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive environment for all visitors. The centre offers five dedicated accessible parking bays and three parent and toddler bays, with step-free access throughout the facility. As all areas are located on the ground floor, no lift is required. The main entrance features an automatic door, and the entrance doorway measures 91cm wide, providing access for wheelchair users and those with mobility aids. Wheelchair access is available throughout the building, assistance dogs are welcome, and a low-level reception desk is available at the front of house to support accessible customer service.
The centre provides a range of accessible facilities, including multiple accessible toilets located across the building, with facilities available on both the wet and dry sides, within the gym changing areas, and within the Changing Places facility. Accessible changing and shower facilities are available in the dry-side and wet-side changing areas, as well as within the Changing Places provision. Located externally at the front of the building, the Changing Places facility is accessed via key and provides additional equipment to support customers with more complex needs.
Within the main changing village, a spacious accessible changing room is available and includes an accessible toilet, drop-down support rail, wall-mounted grab rails, and a flush positioned on the transfer side. Additional features include a working emergency alarm, a manual hoist, and a height-adjustable wall-mounted changing bench measuring 170cm in length. A wheel-in shower is also provided, complete with a flip-down seat and adjustable shower controls.
For pool access, the swimming pool is deck level and can be accessed via steps or a modern pool pod. The centre also has an accessible pool viewing area with a doorway measuring 91cm wide. Staff assistance is available whenever required to support customers accessing the pool and facilities, helping to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable visit for all.
