Leisure Assistant / Lifeguard course - Free Training Opportunity

Looking to start a new career in leisure? Apply to join DCLT as a Leisure Assistant / Lifeguard and gain your Pool Lifeguard Qualification with free training provided.

5 Day Course taking place over the 22nd - 26th June 2026 (Monday to Friday) 8.00am-4.00pm each day at Askern Leisure Centre DN6 9LN

The cost of this course is £250 but you will receive this training free, subject to meeting the prerequisites, signing an indemnity and are looking for a career with DCLT.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, develop lifesaving skills, and work in a friendly, active environment. No previous experience is required—just a positive attitude and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Open Water Safety course - Free Training Opportunity

Want to learn new skills?

We are offering training to become a lifeguard at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre’s Aquapark!

This is a 2-day course taking place over the 7th and 8th July (Tuesday and Wednesday) 8.00am-15.00pm each day at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre.

The cost of this course is £250 but you will receive this training free, subject to meeting the prerequisites, signing an indemnity and are looking for a career with DCLT.

The course provides people with the theory and practical skills needed to be a lifeguard at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre. The course includes training in water safety, casualty recovery, CPR and emergency first aid. When you pass you will receive an STA Level 2 Open Water safety qualification.

If you don't already have a pool lifeguard qualification to complete the course, don't worry we can arrange this for you!

After passing the course you will be able to apply to work for us, and we will guarantee you an interview.

Aqua Natal & Post Natal Exercise Course

Exciting training opportunity to become an Aquanatal Instructor with DCLT

Expand your expertise and support mothers through safe, effective water-based exercise.

This specialist course will teach you how to deliver engaging Aqua Natal and Post Natal classes that harness the therapeutic benefits of water to improve fitness, wellbeing and recovery.

Gain the skills and confidence to plan, adapt and lead sessions that help women stay active, healthy and supported throughout pregnancy and into motherhood.

The cost of the course is £395, but you may qualify for a funded place subject to signing an indemnity with DCLT.

Casual Fitness Instructors at Venues across the City

We're looking for casual Gymnastics Instructors to deliver RISE Gymnastics lessons at sites across the Trust. You will need to hold a Level 2 British Gymnastics Instructor Certificate or British Gymnastics Activity Instructor(GAI) or equivalent.

Salary: £18.50 per hour - £5,411.25 per annum (Pro Rata)
