A variety of activities that are local to us for you to enjoy during your stay.

  1. Family Ice Skating 2

    Ice Skating at The Dome

    Cut the ice on the UK's only split-level Ice Rink.

    With family and evening skating sessions, as well as extra sessions during school holidays, there's always lots of fun to be had on the ice.

  2. Askern Inflatable

    Inflatable Fun in Thorne

    Only a short drive away there is inflatable swimming fun. This is great fun for children aged between 8-15 years. Build confidence and stamina in the water, race against friends along the dual lane pool inflatable, overcoming obstacles and see if you can reach the end! Children should be able to swim confidently for this session. Please note: Adults are not permitted in this session

    Playzone in Adwick

    In Adwick you can let the children burn off some steam at this fun split-level play area. Don't worry, grownups can grab a coffee or bite to eat from The Strikes Bar for some much-needed energy!

  5. Museum Of South Yorkshire

    Cusworth Hall and Park

    Cusworth Hall is a Grade I listed building set in acres of historic parkland, with cafe, bar and restaurant attached. 

    The historic parkland surrounding Cusworth Hall is open to the public every day of the year.  It’s the perfect location for picnics, walks with the dog, or family days out. 

    Children’s play areas and a playing field are also located within the Park and a variety of walking trails are available from the Hall reception.

    Dunsville Quarry Park

    Just a short drive away is Dunsville Quarry Park which has a toddler play area, swings, a rope net and sand pit. For the older children there is a climbing frame, tightrope walk hammock and zip-wire. There is a large playing field and multi-use games area as well as three trails of varying length, suitable for all abilities.

    Walker's Nurseries and Garden Centre

    A 10 minute drive away is Walkers Nurseries and Garden Centre, with an award winning show garden. Covering 8 acres of rural countryside, with views of The Water Garden, The Woodland Trail, The Gatehouse, Japanese Pond Garden and The Stone Circle.

    Sandall Park

    Sandall park boasts a large lake suitable for angling, picnic areas, multiple play areas and has free roaming ducks and geese alongside the wildlife and woodland areas.

    Danum Gallery Library and Museum has activities running for the Easter Holidays. Get creative with a range of spring-themed crafts and activities! Make your own paper wreaths, design a rocking paper plate horse and much more. Perfect for families looking for hands-on fun! Suitable for 3-12 years, donations are welcome!
