Fitness Village Balby Updates 19 February
We wish to share with you exciting news regarding the future of Fitness Village Balby – we’re investing!
What is happening?
Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust are embarking on a major renovation of the venue and improvements to the gym, to create what we believe will be a fantastic new space for you to work out in, with a mix of cardio, resistance, free weights, and functional space.
There will be a complete replacement of equipment, including
- treadmills, standard and introducing curved models
- stationary and recumbent bikes, plus watt and air bikes
- stair climbers and ski-erg
- a wide range of resistance and cable machines, squat racks, barbells, and dumbbells
- functional and strength training area and frame
We are also moving the zones in the gym to improve access, for example the cycle studio will be in a new location.
The sauna will also be replaced, completing our wellness offer.
When is the work happening?
To undertake these major works, we will need to close the centre for a period of four weeks.
Fitness Village Balby will close at 5pm on Sunday 17th March and reopen on Monday 15th April 2024.
We appreciate this will be a disruption to your training schedules during this short closure, but we hope you agree that it will be worth the wait.
What does this mean to me?
As the gym will be closed you will be unable to access the venue, but as a Choose Member you can train at any Choose gym across Doncaster.
The closest gyms to Fitness Village Balby are Adwick Leisure Complex, Dearne Valley Leisure Centre or The Dome.
What will happen when the venue re-opens?
We will keep all members updated on the development works and confirm opening activity directly with you.
There will be no changes to opening hours, but there will be lots of new equipment, new programming, and great offers.
